Owen Redmond is a multi-disciplinary artist. Mainly working within the junction of moving image, sound and text, these mediums manifesting themselves in various combinations depending on the outcome best suited, often times existing in an installation or performance environment.<\/p>

\u4ed6\u82b1\u4e86\u5f88\u591a\u6642\u9593\u5728\u4e92\u806f\u7db2\u4e0a\uff0c\u9019\u662f\u4ed6\u5de5\u4f5c\u7684\u6982\u5ff5\u6846\u67b6\u7684\u8d77\u9ede\u3002\u6bcf\u7576\u4ed6\u60f3\u5230\u4e92\u806f\u7db2\u6642\uff0c\u901a\u5e38\u6703\u611f\u5230\u4e00\u7a2e\u5c0d\u4e16\u754c\u7684\u5b58\u5728\u4e3b\u7fa9\u60c5\u611f\u3002\u5c4f\u5e55\u5982\u4f55\u8d8a\u4f86\u8d8a\u591a\u5730\u4f5c\u70ba\u500b\u9ad4\u8207\u4e16\u754c\u4e4b\u9593\u7684\u5a92\u4ecb\uff0c\u4e26\u4e14\u5c0e\u81f4\u4eba\u5011\u751f\u6d3b\u5728\u8d8a\u4f86\u8d8a\u5b64\u7acb\u7684\u72c0\u614b\u4e2d\uff0c\u9019\u4e00\u9ede\u8b93\u4ed6\u8457\u8ff7\u3002<\/p>

He spends a lot of time on the internet, a place where the conceptual framing for his work begins. When he think about the internet, he is generally left with existential feelings towards the world. How screens increasingly acts as an intermediary between individuals and the world, and leads to people living in more and more atomised states, fascinates him.<\/p>

\u4f60\u53ef\u80fd\u53ef\u4ee5\u60f3\u50cf\u5f97\u5230\uff0c\u4ed6\u8a8d\u70ba\u4e16\u754c\u4e0a\u5df2\u7d93\u6709\u592a\u591a\u7684\u5a92\u9ad4\u4e86\u3002\u8003\u616e\u5230\u9019\u4e00\u9ede\uff0c\u4ed6\u7d93\u5e38\u4f7f\u7528\u518d\u5229\u7528\u7684\u5a92\u9ad4\u4f5c\u70ba\u5275\u4f5c\u7684\u7d20\u6750\u4f86\u6e90\uff0c\u5728\u5167\u90e8\u9032\u884c\u63a1\u6a23\u548c\u62fc\u8cbc\u3002\u9019\u4f7f\u4ed6\u80fd\u5920\u66f4\u76f4\u63a5\u5730\u5be9\u8996\u81ea\u5df1\u60f3\u8981\u89c0\u5bdf\u7684\u4e3b\u984c\uff0c\u9019\u662f\u4e00\u7a2e\u53c3\u8207\u5ea6\u8f03\u9ad8\u7684\u5faa\u74b0\u904e\u7a0b\uff0c\u6216\u8005\u87ba\u65cb\u4e0a\u5347\u7684\u904e\u7a0b\u3002<\/p>

As you could probably imagine, he thinks there is already too much media in the world. Considering this, he often uses reappropriated media as the source material to create, sampling and collaging it within. I am very interested by the internet, and this is the place where my art generally begins. On my previous residency experience in Chongqing, I had ordered some materials for my project from Alibaba and was intrigued by the efficiency of delivery methods in China. I would like to explore this resource, and use it for materials to lead my project. I often explore what I call a\u00a0\u2018bedroom aesthetic\u2019, working with materials that are typical\u00a0of my bedroom, where I usually explore the internet. To me, these materials act to join the internet with my subconscious mind.<\/p>

On my previous trip to Chongqing, I was fascinated by shops selling only slippers, shops we do not specifically have in Australia. I would be interested in creating a sculpture from slippers that I acquire, potentially having screens within the sculpture.<\/p>

One aspect of Chongqing that I was extremely interested by in my previous trip was its location on the Yangtze River. I had wandered along the river during that trip, recording the surrounding sounds of the river, which I used to make a musical composition from. I would like to learn more about the relationship that Chongqing has to the Yangtze, and about the local people who live on the shores of it. I am also interested in meeting local artists from Chongqing, and going to some small art galleries.<\/p><\/section>
