Leong Chon was born in Macau. He majored sculpture art at Sichuan Fine Art Institute for his Bachelor Degree and then he obtained his Master Degree of Fine Arts at University for Creative Arts in England. Now he is a visual arts teacher in Macau, engaged in art education, painting, sculpture and installation art.<\/p>

I don’t really want my works to be so instructive and enlightening. I hope that myself, the work and the audiences would construct new context together, therefore, my creating methods are generally metaphorical, ironic, ambiguous, contradictory and self-deprecating. I have produced a series of reality-based but ridiculous awards and records in my series work “Wanted” and the names of award winners are all Leong Chon. When the award presenter and the award winner is the same person, the significance of awards and records would become questionable but it may just be a coincidence that these people share the same name. I will interview different people in Chongqing to understand their stories and backgrounds and make them the worthy of being remembered honor they deserve. Audiences will also be awarded awards for honoring their outstanding contributions when they attend the opening day.
