Residency OPEN CALL：Special Project – Global Dialogue on Ecology, Mountain City, and Dazu Rock Carvings
This year, we are launching the special program “Chongqing Art Residency – Global Dialogue on Ecology, the Mountain City, and Dazu Rock Carvings”. Supported by the Luhai International Communication Foundation, in the first phase (first half of 2026), we will offer three international participants a free residency in Chongqing.
We welcome artists, writers, video content creators, cultural practitioners, and other creative individuals from around the world who have a strong interest in Chongqing city and in Chinese culture to join us.
The residency duration ranges from two weeks to one month. Participants will be provided with comfortable living quarters, creative workspaces, opportunities for cultural exchange, and platforms for showcasing their work.
驻留招募：2026年，我们正式启动特别项目“重庆艺术驻留——生态、山城与大足石刻的全球对话”。本项目由重庆陆海国际传播公益基金会支持，首期（2026年上半年）将为三位国际参与者提供在重庆的免费驻留机会。
我们诚邀来自全球各地，对重庆城市及中国文化怀有浓厚兴趣的艺术家、作家、视频内容创作者、文化实践者及其他创意人士加入。 驻留时长可为两周至一个月。参与者将获得舒适的居住空间、创作工作环境、文化交流机会以及作品展示平台。
■ 2. Purposes and Objectives
We aim to build a platform for artistic dialogue connecting China and the world, promote cross-cultural creation with Chongqing’s distinctive characteristics and deep in-situ experience, and facilitate interaction between international creators and Chongqing’s urban landscape, natural ecology, Dazu Rock Carvings, and community culture.
宗旨与目标：我们致力于搭建连接中国与世界的艺术对话平台，推动以重庆独特地域特征和在地深度体验为核心的跨文化创作，促进国际创作者与重庆的城市景观、自然生态、大足石刻及社区文化之间的互动交融。
■ 3. Chongqing Characteristics
Chongqing is China’s most recognizable “8D cyberpunk city”, blending unique mountain terrain, riverside scenery, hotpot culture, historical relics, and futuristic skylines. It is both a visual feast and a fertile ground for inspiration.
重庆特色：重庆是中国最具辨识度的“8D魔幻都市”，集独特的山地地形、两江风光、火锅文化、历史遗迹与未来感的天际线于一体。这里既是视觉的盛宴，也是灵感的沃土。

Base-A：Dimensions Art Center (Located in Jiulong Art Peninsula, Chongqing, China):
Suitable interests: Chongqing urban culture, city scenic spots tour, natural scenery of mountains and rivers.
基地A：十方艺术中心（位于中国重庆市九龙美术半岛）
适配兴趣方向：重庆城市文化、城市景点游览、山水自然风光。
Dimensions Art Center is a non-profit organization with 12 years of experience dedicated to international art and cultural exchange. Since the launch of the Residency in 2014, DAC has accepted a total of about 180 domestic and foreign artists to conduct residency in Chongqing, including more than 100 international artists, musicians, curators and so on.
十方艺术中心是一家拥有12年国际艺术文化交流经验的非营利机构。自2014年启动驻留计划以来，中心已累计接待约180位国内外艺术家在重庆进行驻留创作，其中包括超百位国际艺术家、音乐家、策展人等。
Base-B：Jiezishan Art Center (Located in the world cultural heritage Dazu Rock Carvings cultural area):
Suitable interests: Chongqing rural culture, Dazu Rock scenic spots tour, rural natural scenery.
基地B：芥子山艺术中心（位于世界文化遗产大足石刻文化区内）
适配兴趣方向：重庆乡村文化、大足石刻景区游览、乡村自然风光。
■ 5. Requirements and Selection Criteria
Open to visual artists, writers, musicians, performers, video content creators, and interdisciplinary creators. Applicants should have a strong interest in Chinese culture and Chongqing’s regional characteristics, with the intention to incorporate local elements into their work.
Requirement: Complete an event for chongqing residents, such as an interactive workshop, art exhibition, or online creative content showcase. The theme should focus on Chongqing’s mountain-city, ecology, or Dazu Rock Carvings culture.
申请要求与遴选标准：本项目面向视觉艺术家、作家、音乐家、表演者、视频内容创作者及跨学科创作者开放申请。申请者需对中国文化及重庆地域特色抱有浓厚兴趣，并有意将在地元素融入其创作实践中。
活动要求：驻留期间需面向重庆本地居民策划并完成一场公开活动，形式可为互动工作坊、艺术展览或线上创意内容展示等，主题须围绕重庆的山城文化、生态保护或大足石刻文化展开。
■ 6. How to Apply
Application Deadline: 31 March 2026
Limited to 3 Foreign participants
Please send the following materials to: info@chongqingdac.org. Use the email subject line: “Global Dialogue + Your Name”. The email body must include:
1) A motivation letter explaining your reasons for applying and how this residency could benefit your creative development.
2) A description of the artistic project you plan to undertake during the residency, detailing how you intend to explore cultural exchange between China and other parts of the world.
3) Portfolio and a list of previous workshows.
4) Your residency schedule, you can choose the time between March and July 2026, with a duration ranging from two weeks to one month (the duration should align with your resident plan)

1）动机信：阐述申请理由，并说明此次驻留将如何助力您的创作发展；
2）创作计划说明：详细介绍您在驻留期间计划开展的艺术项目，重点说明如何探索中国与世界其他地区的文化交流；
3）作品集及过往作品/展览清单；
4）驻留时间安排：您可选择在2026年3月至7月期间参与驻留，时长可为两周至一个月（驻留时长需与您的创作计划相匹配）。
